~ Lyrics ~
I see Your face in every sunrise
The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
The world awakens in the light of the day
I look up to the sky and say
You’re beautifulI see Your power in the moonlit night
Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright
We are amazed in the light of the stars
It’s all proclaiming who You are
You’re beautiful

I see You there hanging on a tree
You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me
Now You are sitting on Your heavenly throne
Soon we will be coming home
You’re beautiful

When we arrive at eternity’s shore
Where death is just a memory and tears are no more
We’ll enter in as the wedding bells ring
Your bride will come together and we’ll sing
You’re beautiful

I see Your face, I see Your face
I see Your face, You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful
You’re beautiful

Jesus is beautiful to me! That’s all there is to it. When I think about him or look up into the sky I see the glory of God in the heavens and I think about his exceeding beauty that is beyond the most colorful sunrise or starry night. The beauty and glory that the invisible God bestowed on Jesus is indescribable. To speak of the splendor and vesture of light that God arrayed Jesus with is to speak of only the smallest fraction of his beauty.

This song helped me realize that I did not see the beauty of Jesus big enough. Jesus is my savior but I had kept him at a distance and thought of him in very unaffectionate terms. He was not truly beautiful in my eyes and my heart was not filled with joy at the sound of his name. Maybe I was too shallow in who I understood Jesus to be at that time and what he should mean to me personally.

But every day I find greater beauty in Jesus and my heart continues to grow more affectionate toward him. Before I realized I did not truly know Jesus; he was not part of my day. He was only part of my redemption. But now, I cannot go a day without Jesus’ beauty consuming my soul and an overflowing sense of love spilling forth in praise and adoration. Jesus could not be a more beautiful savior to me and a more beautiful friend!

John 15:15 NIV
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
