PRAISE FM began on KBHL in Osakis, Minnesota in 1985. In 1995 they changed their radio programming format to worship according to a vision that God had impressed on the hearts of the board. They believed that God was inspiring this change and that He would expand the radio ministry to share of His glory with the nations.
The new God-centered programming centered on including more prayer, more scripture, and extended times of worship on the air. PRAISE FM and their affiliate stations began to invite people into a place of abiding in God and they began to hear their stories deliverance and fruit-bearing as a result of encountering the Living God.
Stations were added as the programming service grew. KBHZ in Willmar was added in 1996, and KCGN in Milbank in 1999.
In late 2008, PRAISE FM began to broadcast on KNOF in St Paul and Minneapolis through a lease agreement and partnership with North Central University. While operating in the Cities they partnered with a many local organizations toward worship events and relief efforts in the local communities. PRAISE FM’s online presence has been growing rapidly: on social media it has grown from several hundred people to tens of thousands of friends and followers within several years. PRASIE FM is able to complement their ministry over the airwaves through various charitable platforms and relief aid. Additionally, iTunes recently added PRAISE FM to their radio section giving an additional 200 million iTunes users access to the Christian radio programming they provide.
PRAISE FM has enabled the gospel to be broadcast in tractors, in homes, and on interstates. He has even opened doors for them to reach people listening online from nearly every nation around the globe.
PRAISE FM believes they are at the beginning of profound revival and renewal, and they believe that God is raising this canopy of worship to help prepare our communities for what He plans to do. Their motto is: Our history is really His story. His fame. His name. His glory. Our delight.
