K-LOVE is a listener supported Christian music radio station programming service that plays contemporary Christian music all around the country and is operated by the Educational Media Foundation. Their mission is to create compelling media that inspires and encourages the listen to have a meaningful relationship with Christ. They air on 440 FM stations around the nation and in 47 states with ~12 million listeners each week. It is the six-most online-streamed station in the world.
Why is it called K-LOVE? Well, every radio station in the U.S. has a 4 letter “call sign” assigned by the FCC. Radio stations east of the Mississippi have call signs that begin with the letter K. And so the K-LOVE board decided to designate their affiliate stations with the letter K, since it originated east of the Mississippi.
