~ Lyrics ~
This is the dream, a dream for the world to see You
A dream for the world to know You, to love Your nameLift up a shout, lift up a cry to shake the ground
Shout and the walls are coming down
Yeah, we’re running after You

Like a rolling stone, like a runaway train
No turning back, no more yesterdays
My heart is free, no chains on me
God, You raise me up, up from the grave
The cross before, I’m on my way
My heart is free, no chains on me

Now is the time, now is the time for freedom
Abandoned by cold religion, my heart on fire
We hear the sound, the sound of revival coming
The sound of Your people rising
Yeah, we’re running after You

The walls are coming down
The walls are coming down
The walls are coming down

Psalm 107:13-16 NIV
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness,
and broke away their chains.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he breaks down gates of bronze
and cuts through bars of iron.

Amidst the storms of despair, depression, fear, temptation, pain, sorrow, brokenness and all of the darkness we face in this world, we are but prisoners to its corruption and the consequences of our fallenness. But God did not leave us forsaken in such a world destitute of hope. He is our hope! And he sent us his hope in his Messiah, Jesus.

God sent his only son because he loved us while we were unlovable, he raised us to life when we were dead, and he gave us freedom when we were slaves to sin. We were everything he did not want, but he still wanted us. Even now, those of us who have found life in Christ Jesus struggle to leave behind a world of self-erected walls and rebellion against God. But the more we see God’s power in Jesus Christ like a runaway train in our lives— unstoppable, driving, and dynamic—we realize that God sent the spirit of Jesus into our hearts precisely to remind us that his work is not finished and it will not be finished until he has brought forth the kingdom of his son in its fullness and wash away the filth of this present age.

In Christ Jesus, our hearts are free from this world despite our never-ending battle. According to the power we have received in Jesus Christ, we have no chains that bind us any longer.

No chains of worry.

No chains of wickedness.

No chains of sin.

Every chain has been broken at the name of Jesus.

God’s people will rise and will move when they see how their heart has been made free in Christ and the power of his resurrection. The devil and this world no longer has any power over us. We were once captives and instruments of unrighteousness but Jesus brought the greatest prison break the world will ever see.

We no longer are held back by wicked forces of darkness, sin in our members, evil spirits of the world. We are no longer bound to feel:

  • Un-worthy
  • Un-certain
  • Un-valuable
  • Un-loved
  • Un-saved
  • Un-wanted

We stand free in the love of our savior. Jesus has made us free! J.A. Lacy said, “The cross we carry is never so heavy as the chains from which we were freed.” Jesus said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Mt 11:28-30 ESV)
